I want to have more in-depth knowledge as to what makes an art piece work and why.
This will help me understand why some pieces work and others just fall flat or seem off.

I cannot stress enough how much I use the course material in my thinking, observation and designing.
I am not a prolific producer but I have fun everyday doing something in my studio. I would not have if I had not taken the course. I pushed myself to join two fiber art groups..one local and one for western Canada…and I am working my way up to being confident enough to enter one of their challenges.
I love the feeling that I have finally found my tribe. I highly recommend your course to anyone interested in exploring their creativity whether it be fiber art or some other medium.
My favourite part of the course was the chats with artists and the ability to be in a small group …that is when I recognized the need for community of like minded people who support each other in their art growth.

Due to your prodding in our “Find your Voice” working artist group I documented my quilt making.
Last year I made 51 quilts...
and sold 41!

Working through Lyric's "Focus Your Vision/Find Your Voice" course has changed how I approach my art. Taking the time to explore the elements and principles of art helped me see how each impacted a composition. The exercises and 'make bad art' prompts gave me the opportunity to put the lessons to work in a fun way. Looking at work from other artists (in various mediums) further illustrated how the elements/principles can be used.
In the past, while working on a piece, I would get stuck and not know what the problem was or how to fix it. Critiquing a piece based on the elements/principles showed me where the piece did and didn't work, and gave me ideas for continuing. Learning the process of how to work through a critique took the fear out of it, and I looked forward to hearing how others in the group saw my work.
The Working Artist Group have become wonderful friends to share the journey with, while continuing to practice what we learned. All of the pieces of this course have taught me how to look and see in a different way.

Lyric's exercises are challenging. They force me to really think about what I am doing. The whole experience has engendered artistic growth and deeper understanding. It has changed the way I see the world around me.
The month I studied Color I suddenly began noticing the colors of all the new cars. When I view public artwork I now evaluate it in terms of Focal Point. I see the item as more than just a pretty picture on the wall.
Sincerely, Linda L.
am on a mission to help YOU uncover your unique vision and voice as an artist. Whether you’ve never taken an art class or have been told you aren’t creative, I’m here to help you move past fear and doubt. With the right guidance and a willingness to explore, you can become the confident, intentional artist you’ve always dreamed of being.
As an award-winning quilt artist, I’ve spent years transforming fabric into art in my studio and helping hesitant creatives transform into empowered artists in the classroom. My teaching is rooted in playful exploration and practical learning, creating a safe space where students can discover, experiment, and grow.
One of my greatest joys is witnessing that moment when a student realizes that their creative spark is real—and that they have the power to fan it into a steady flame. I don’t just teach techniques; I teach artists how to think, analyze, and trust their creative instincts. In the Focus Your Vision course, I bring together years of experience teaching the elements and principles of art, combined with personal exercises and community support, to help artists like you find clarity and confidence in your work.
The Focus Your Vision course is permanent access, and the equivalent of a full year of basic design. At our local state university that would cost you over $9,000.00. Let me ask you this. Is having confidence in your understanding of compositions and confidence in your ability to trust your own design decisions worth it?
The Find Your Voice working artist groups are simply invaluable. Working closely with Lyric for your first three months of the program will set you on a path to achieving your dreams. Being part of an ongoing group of peers who UNDERSTAND, who are trained in Lyric's proven critique process, in a safe and supportive environment, cannot be measured in dollar amounts.
Nobody lives forever. The reality is that you have access for as long as Lyric continues to teach! Legally I have to say that you are guaranteed access for one year.
I have never had a disappointed student so I am confident in saying that if after spending a few months in the course you aren't satisfied with the content I will fully refund your investment. If something truly isn't working for you, talk to me and we will figure it out. I fully understand that "life" gets in the way and if you are in the Find Your Voice working artist group and a true emergency makes it impossible for you to participate.
